Afrika Tikkun a été fondée en 1994 par feu le grand rabbin en chef Cyril Harris et le philanthrope / homme d’affaires Dr Bertie Lubner.
Lors de la création, les besoins quotidiens des enfants étaient une priorité, mais au fil du temps Afrika Tikkuna affiné son approche pour élargir son action et reformulée ses actions dans le modèle Cradle to Career 360 °.
Ce modèle vise à fournir une éducation, des services de santé et des services sociaux aux jeunes et à leurs familles par le biais de centres d’excellence dans les townships sud-africains.
L’objectif principal d’Afrika Tikkun est de créer un avenir durable pour les jeunes des communautés défavorisées d’Afrique du Sud. Par l’accès à L’éducation, de bons soins de santé, une nutrition et un soutien pour leurs familles.
Depuis lors, 4 centres d’excellence ont été construits à travers Gauteng et 1 dans le Cap occidental.

Afrika Tikkun was founded in 1994 with the goal of making a difference in South Africa by developing and uplifting young people in under-privileged communities. We believe that every young person deserves the opportunity to be the best that they can be.
We are passionate about developing young people together with like-minded partners, through innovative and enterprising ways, to impact the economy of South Africa. We want to end child poverty and youth unemployment. We do this through a holistic approach that begins in early childhood and ends with productive adults accessing the economy.
Our model provides 360° care of the nutrition, health, and social needs of the young person. It also includes personal, leadership and academic development throughout youth; skills development for out-of-school youth; and ultimately work placement.
This approach is called our Cradle-to-Career 360° model, and it has earned us recognition for being one of the most impactful organisations in South Africa.
